Fudge Kitchen has won the coveted Ambient Manufacturing Company of the Year in the industry’s Oscars – the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards (FMEAs).

“The last two years have been a whirlwind for Fudge Kitchen,” said Sian Holt. “We launched our new Gourmet Butter Fudge range in 2012 and have since developed over 50 new products, over 200 stockists, including such doyens of foodie quality and innovation as Selfridges and Harrods, grown a burgeoning export business; and opened our own production facility in Aylesham. It has been an incredible, exhilarating journey; so to have our achievements achnowledged is a much appreciated rewardt, and by the industry, a particular honour. My thanks to my wonderful team, who have made all this happen and to the Food Manufacturing Awards for this prestigious seal of approval.”

The FMEA awards’ independent judging panel – led by Paul Wilkinson, chair of National Skills Academy and non executive director of Thorntons – praised Fudge Kitchen’s new product development and efficiency improvements.

“Fudge Kitchen’s innovative approach was demonstrated most recently with the launch of its drinking fudge, which is now available from Amazon,” said the judges.“Although a very small company, it has a lot of vision in terms of new product development,” they continued. “The drinking fudge was a great innovation, filling a gap in the market.”
