The Brogdale Artisan Cider Festival has teamed up with the National Association of Cider Makers (NACM) this year to bring the best of Kent Ciders to the farm.
Within Kent lie hidden treasures of Artisan Cider Makers offering truly scrumptious and unique tasting Ciders. Brogdale aims to bring as many Artisan Ciders and Perries as possible to the festival weekend for people to taste, buy and also take home! Kent Cider Makers will also be invited to enter their Ciders into the “NACM Brogdale Diamond Jubilee Cider & Perry Competition” which will award 1st, 2nd and 3rd to provide official recognition from the NACM. The judging will take place over the festival weekend in public view and the competition will be regulated with set rules and conditions to ensure a fair competition.
Along with holding the UK Apple and Pear collection Brogdale preserve over 90 varieties of Cider Apples and 20 varieties of Perry Pears in the National Fruit Collection. The National Association of Ciders Makers also supports the conservation of heritage Cider and Pear varieties. The collaboration of Brogdale and the NACM aims to raise awareness among the public of the significance of preserving the varieties of apples and pears as well as the NACM as the national body representing and fighting for the UK ciders makers.
