Taywell finally reaches the supermarkets but in a different guise. On 28th May, Sainsbury’s will launch a new range of ‘Deliciously Free From’ and Taywell’s three, brand new, dairy free and allergen free, vegan and kosher frozen desserts will become available nationwide.
It has been a major undertaking to become supplier to one of the largest supermarket chains in the UK and has taken six months to become an accredited ‘free from’ supplier. It will result in the company manufacturing almost continually every day each month in order to keep up with demand.
The company has decided to embark on a crowdfunding exercise through Crowdcube in order to raise the money to demolish and rebuild its Paddock Wood factory to accommodate a new allergen free production line. This will be almost unique in Europe and allow the company to specialise in ‘free from’ manufacture, especially that of dairy free and refined sugar free.
Taywell has also launched its own range of refined sugar free, dairy free, vegan and kosher frozen desserts under its Sweet Rebellion brand and these are available in retail shops throughout Kent.
