Produced in Kent and Cripps LLP hosted a Food & Drink Industry Winter Networking Event at the new Copper Rivet Distillery in Chatham on the 30th December
It was fantastic to see so many members and guests getting together. The evening began with an introduction from Bob Russell, Co-Founder with his sons Matthew and Stephen of the distillery. Bob explained how they came upon the disused red brick pumping station and how they have brought their vision to life. Sourcing the everything from the grain to the stills right here in Kent.
There was then the opportunity to take a more detailed tour of the distilling process, learn about the botanicals and most importantly try the Dockyard Gin! Having chosen the coldest night of the year the mulled apple juice was also a great success.
While businesses made new contacts and shared ideas they were treated to a wonderful array of food from The Flippin’Frog – Rochesters first micropub. Owner Mel Royer is the pubs very own micro chef and showed off her Michelin training to prepare some tempting Kentish fare.
The event was a great way to round off a great year for Kent food & drink and we look forward to working with our members in 2017!
