It has been a roller coaster ride but after 4 years, 5 months and 2 days West Fisher Winery finally has a lease agreement on The Old Stables on Skid Hill Farm. This means at last that we can complete the works to the winery, clear our outstanding minor issues with Bromley Environmental Health Department, secure our license (at last) and open up for regular visits and potential networking events. A lesson in patience I think!
As I will have to spend more time at the winery I will be moving my Architectural Practice into the winery (part time) so I can continue to work while I am there and it will mean we will potentially open to drop in customers 2 or 3 days a week from July/August onwards.
We have also agreed terms on a vineyard site in Felbridge, all being well we will start preparing the site in September/October and plant the first couple of acres in April next year.
Last bit of news is a new vineyard and market vehicle for West Fisher, a 2005 Landrover 110 Defender will be ours in a weeks time. Betsy will be our second vehicle in the fleet and will be a valuable asset for the vineyard work to come.
