Murder most elegant on board the Wealden Pullman
Kent & East Sussex Railway offer a wonderfully nostalgic experience with their Wealden Pullman dining events. Passengers can step back in time to a more elegant age and enjoy the sophistication of the past, while travelling through the beautifu
l Rother Valley in historic cars dating from the 1920s and 1930s.
But look out – there’s a murderer on board! Following a dastardly crime, guests must find the clues and try to identify the killer among their fellow passengers – all before the train arrives back at Tenterden Station.
The Wealden Pullman dining experience begins with an aperitif on arrival and continues with a delicious six-course meal, prepared on board and served by authentically dressed Pullman attendants. Passengers can relax and enjoy their journey in two 1920s Pullman cars – ‘Barbara’ and ‘Theodora’ – or a First Class 1930s car ‘Maunsell’, built for the Southampton Ocean Liner traffic. In keeping with Pullman tradition, gentlemen are requested to wear a tie.
Murder mystery evenings take place on the following dates with a 7.30pm departure:
April 2 & October 22 – Sherlock Holmes: Wealden Pullman Blackmailer
April 16 – Wealden Pullman Theft
October 29 – The Homecoming
Tickets cost £97.50 per person for Pullman Class and £92.50 for First Class.
Six-course dining experiences without a murder mystery are available on various Saturday evenings through the year, along with three-course Sunday luncheons – see the website for full details.
