Mothers’ Day Treat at Kent & East Sussex Railway

mothers dayEnjoy a special Mothers’ Day treat with a day out on the Kent & East Sussex Railway in Tenterden.    Enjoy the beautiful countryside as the steam train travels at a leisurely pace between Tenterden and Bodiam stations before terminating in the shadow of the iconic Bodiam Castle.

Why not choose to take the short walk to the Medieval Castle to explore the moated castle ruin before travelling back to Tenterden from Bodiam.  Passengers presenting a valid Kent & East Sussex Railway ticket will be treated to discounted castle admission.

Back at Tenterden Station there is the opportunity to explore the fascinating Colonel Stephens Railway Museum which is free to enter.  Tenterden High Street is also a short walk from the station and perfect for a spot of shopping!

Every mum travelling on the railway on Sunday 26 March 2017 can choose from a delicious ploughmans or cream tea including tea and coffee on either the 1.15 or 3.35 departures from Tenterden Station and will receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers to take home as a reminder of their special day and all for just £29.50.

Additional passengers will pay normal fares of £18 for adults and £12 for children aged 3 to 5 and can choose to add a cream tea for £6.20 pp or a ploughmans for £7.30 pp.

Tickets can also be purchased in advance for a 3 course Mothering Sunday Lunch on board the Wealden Pullman for travel between 12.30 and 15.20.  See the website for details www.kesr.org.uk

For anybody not wishing to take a train ride, ‘Afternoon Teas’ will also be available on Mothers’ Day in the Station Refreshment Rooms at Tenterden Station. These can be pre-booked from £15 pp at either 2pm or 4pm.
