From a busy home kitchen in Sandhurst, Kent, Mimi tarts are finding an enthusiastic welcome in farmshops and cafés for miles around.
(So if you haven’t eaten yet, tummy rumble warning!)
The new Mimi range of savoury tarts includes the following instant favourites:
Ultra-refined Smoked Salmon with crème fraîche, wholegrain mustard, spring onions and fresh dill.
There’s also the ultimate Quiche Lorraine with tasty lardons and delicious pan fried shallots.
Only free range eggs are used and even the shortcrust pastry case is homemade.
Says Mimi owner Sam Gould, “My aim is to create tarts that are satisfying, delicious and premium quality. Whenever I can, I use local produce.”
Also growing in popularity are Mimi sweet tarts, with flavours such as chocolate ganache, salted caramel, peanut butter & milk chocolate, coffee cream, and zesty lemon with dark chocolate. And as the weather warms up, Mimi’s delicious fruit tart range makes a welcome return.
Of course the product that started it all was Mimi macarons, those irresistible delicacies that are so notoriously tricky to perfect.
Mimi stockists include Chapel Down Winery in Tenterden, Will’s Bakery in Northiam, Judge’s in Robertsbridge and The Weald Smokery in Flimwell.
