Members Summer Event

X3OX0698On Tuesday 26th July, Produced in Kent were delighted to welcome members old and new to the latest networking event at The Kings Head in Wye. Scott Richardson and Mark Lightford have been running the Kings Head, Wye since 2012. They have transformed the business into a popular and stylish destination to eat, drink and stay and have been dedicated to local sourcing from the beginning.

Blessed with a warm evening, a fabulous spread and great company the evening was a great success. Situated in the heart of the village, no-one had trouble finding us as they could hear the buzz of conversation and laughter up the High Street!

With tX3OX0677astings from Hush Heath, Anno Distillers and Shepherd Neame the conversation flowed. ChefRob’s homemade scotch eggs and sausage rolls proved a particular hit. With other tasting from The Cheesemakers of Canterbury, The Wooden Spoon Preserving Company, Kent Downs Artisan Meats, Perry Court Farm, Kent Crisps and Kentish Oils.

Our members that attend find this networking time invaluable, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed with everyone joining in the conversation.  Lots of new contacts were made and a few old ones restarted – it was great to find out more about all the great work being done across the county, new products, new staff, events and much more.

X3OX0659We have to say a huge thank you to Scott, Mark & the team for making sure everyone was so well looked after. It is no surprise that the pub recently won the Shepherd Neame Restaurant of the Year award, and is a finalist in the national Great British Pub Awards – Best Partnership Pub. Good luck for the finals in October!

We hope to see lots of you again at the next event in October. Look out for the email!
