Marathon Challenge for Macknade Manager

Finnian Dunlop, General Manager at Macknade Fine Foods, is running the London Marathon on Sunday April 26th to raise funds for Oxfam’s lifesaving work fighting poverty around the world.

Running the London Marathon is a great physical challenge, and Finn has been training through all conditions throughout the winter to prepare for the event.  He commented, “Being 42 and particularly unfit has meant lots of aches and pains as I slowly increase my distance. I did however run 13 miles last week and have realised that I am actually starting to enjoy it, signing up for two further half marathons later in the year.”

He added, “Oxfam is a charity for whom I have enormous respect. They are doing phenomenal work to relieve suffering, improve sanitation and fight poverty throughout the world. It makes all the aches and pains worth it!”

As well as completing the event, Finn see’s the challenge as raising £2,000 in sponsorship for the charity, and has all the team at Macknade helping him do it.

He commented, “The team at Macknade have been a real support and we are having fun coming up with fundraising ideas. On Friday February 26th we are hosting a fancy dress Zumba night here at Macknade with many of the team and other friends of the company taking part. The team are really enjoying the fundraising challenge and are raising money themselves to take part in our Zumba night. We have raised £570 to date and hope to double that on the 26th. Equally we would like to invite all our customers and suppliers to lend their support and sponsor me.”
