After a year in the making, the new and improved Macknade Fine Foods website is now live. The launch of the new website, which offers extensive information on the Macknade experience, its products and services, is part of Macknade Fine Food’s ongoing efforts to raise further awareness of the brand, communicate its values and become the best loved & trusted food & drink retailer.
Macknade Fine Foods have been working with Maidstone based design and digital media agency The Hideout on the site, who were also responsible for last year’s rebrand. The challenge for them was in transferring the emotive, bricks and mortar food hall experience onto the ephemeral realm of the internet – something made easier by the fact that The Hideout team are regular shoppers at Macknade themselves!
The new website boasts several features on the business, its ethos and history; at the same time highlighting important contact details and information about the store. The extensive community section is perhaps the most unique, drawing attention to everything that makes Macknade special – its customers, its suppliers and its staff – and also highlighting any news, opinions, recipes and events happening in-store.
The website includes features on each of the food & drink departments, as well as the Macknade Café and growing cookware range. Hampers will also be available to purchase online via a dedicated shop in the coming months.
Stefano Cuomo, Managing Director at Macknade Fine Foods, commented, “It was way back in 2012 that we identified a need to update our website – a site that had served us well but was simply being added to rather than crafted to suit the needs of our growing business. Upon entering 2013, we finally grabbed the bit by the teeth and started planning.

2014 saw us identify a number of excellent Kent based firms, as we felt a ‘local’ understanding was critical to the website’s development. Being a small Kent business with aspirations to grow ourselves, we wanted to support and build a partnership with a business that shared that approach and ethos. The Hideout were exactly that and we have been working closely with them ever since. We think they’ve done a fantastic job creating a website that truly conveys what Macknade is all about.”
