To celebrate the superb service and unwavering dedication Kent rural retailers bring to the lives of residents in Rural Kent we are this year re-launching Kent’s Community Rural Retailer of the year competition.
The Community Rural Retailer competition is not necessarily about being the biggest or smartest retailer but much more about being part of the community, supplying great local produce and delivering first class customer service.
The winner will receive prizes worth in excess of £2,000 (including a new website for their shop, courtesy of Web Dandy worth £1,500, an i – pad worth £450 courtesy of the Post Office & membership to Rural shops Alliance worth £250) plus of course the prestige and PR associated with being named Community Rural Retailer 2014
There are 5 key dates to be aware of……
1st July to 31st August 2014– competition open for nominations, these can come from customers, parish councils or the shop keeper himself. Nominations can be made on line at www.kentruralretailers.co.uk or using the enclosed form.
1st – 14th September 2014 – Nominations will be examined and the 6 finalists determined by a panel of judges.
20th September 2014 – Finalists notified and voting slips and posters distributed to the finalists.
22nd September – 4th October 2014 – Judges will visit the 6 finalists.
20th September to 4th October 2014 – now the public get a chance to vote for their favorite from the 6 finalists, online at www.kentruralretailers.co.uk or by post using the voting slip attached.
80% of the final mark will be determined by the judges the remaining 20% will be determined by the number of votes received
The finalists will be invited to Action with Communities in Rural Kent AGM at the end of October.
