Growers Friend was set up as a side project by Jack’s Veg to provide appropriate and affordable, low impact tools and advice to small and larger scale food producing enterprises. With the right human scale tools, small scale farming can be a productive and efficient operation. We have tested these tool and they are in use by us at Jack’s Veg. They have made our production far more efficient and increased our turn around and output compared to ‘by hand’ methods. Most of the tools have been invented and are used by well-established growers like Elliot Coleman, Curtis Stone and Jean-Martin Fortier. We want to see more people in the UK become farmers and growers, but understand it’s not as attractive as it once was. With these type of tools now available in the UK, there really is never a better time to get growing.
