The lead up to Christmas is always a frenetic time for Fudge Kitchen, not least for the flurry of festive shows: BBC Good Food, Ideal Home, Spirit of Christmas, York and Bath Christmas Fairs … you name it, where there’s a whiff of a piped carol, we’ll have a stand.
Then there’s the army of Fudge Elves at our Aylesham production facility and Canterbury shop, toiling away, creating – if last year is any indication – over ¼ ton of fresh whipping cream fudge alone for mail orders. That is the average weight of a female polar bear! A polar bear in sixteen different flavours, no less; which this Christmas include Mince Pie, Black Forest Gateaux, Rudolph’s Delight (aka Carrot Cake), Santa’s Tipple (Irish Cream) and Chocolate Orange.
Notably, with the rise of Free From consumer interest, one this year’s big Christmas sellers is our Dairy Free Fudge gift box – four generous slabs of hand made fudge in Mince Pie, Snowflake, Sea Salted Caramel and Chocolate Classic. All the flavour, the same famously creamy texture and all-natural guarantee, but made with soya milk. We dare you to spot the difference …

You can watch our Canterbury shop artisans hand making all of the above in the traditional method, using bubbling copper cauldrons, huge spatulas to ‘cream and loaf’ the cooling fudge in theatrical flourishes, while being famously entertained by their banter and knowledge and plied with plentiful samples.
