Christmas Day Lunch on the Wealden Pullman at the Kent & East Sussex Railway
New for this year is the chance to enjoy a real treat with a traditional family Christmas day lunch on board the Wealden Pullman.
The Wealden Pullman will be at Tenterden Town Station from 12.30pm on Christmas Day. After a complimentary welcome drink everyone who has booked a place will be invited to take their seat in the festively decorated 1920’s carriages. Drinks orders can be placed with the Pullman Steward and everything is included in the ticket price!
The train departs at 1pm and a traditional Christmas lunch, prepared and cooked on-board the train, will be silver served during the relaxing journey to Bodiam. As the train gently winds its way through the unspoilt Rother Valley, savour the timeless rural scenes as they unfold at your window. The beautiful historic castle of Bodiam appears as the train nears Bodiam, where the locomotive will “run round” the train in preparation for the return journey. There will be plenty of time to stretch your legs, chat with the engine driver and perhaps take a photograph or two.
As the train returns to Tenterden, the dessert trolley offers an enticing range, naturally including homemade Christmas Pudding! Coffee is served as the train is hauled up one of the steepest gradients in southern England before arriving back in Tenterden at approximately 4.30pm.
The Wealden Pullman is extremely popular and accommodation is limited, so early reservations are strongly recommended.
Christmas Day Lunch on the Wealden Pullman is fully inclusive of train travel, meal and your choice of beverages. Adult tickets are £150 per person and children £75.
In keeping with the Pullman tradition, gentlemen are requested to wear a tie.
The railway’s catering team aims to accommodate all guests’ special dietary and allergenic requirements and details should be given at the time of booking. The Pullman’s Chef will then personally call to discuss individual requirements.
