IoD Kent ambassador for F&B to give Directors’ Briefing …
Sian Holt, MD of premium confectioners, Fudge Kitchen, was appointed the Kent Food and Drink ambassador for the Institute of Directors (IoD) in 2016
Her role is to represent the concerns and challenges of Kent food producers and retailers and has seen her attending an audience with Andrea Leadsom, Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs at the British Embassy in Paris, has taken her to Calais, championing Anglo-French exporting opportunities with mayor Natacha Bouchart; and giving numerous inspirational, instructive talks on running an artisanal F&B business in forums ranging from the Speciality Fine Food Fair to her forthcoming IoD Directors’ Briefings at Ashford International Hotel on June 6th 2017, under the title “The Challenge of Scaling Up you Business”.
An indispensable insight into the highs, lows and hind-sights of growing and up-scaling your business through the Journey of Fudge Kitchen, Sian will look at battling turnover versus margin, building & motivating the right team, avoiding over-stretching; and spotting and tackling danger signs early on. It can be a lonely journey for the entrepreneur, but there are places to go to for help, from grant funding to fund capital projects or keyman training, to more specialist advice and peer-support. Minefields through which Sian will engagingly guide her audience.
