Canterbury Brewers based at the Foundry Brew pub in Whitehorse lane Canterbury are celebrating again after winning a gold award at the SIBA south east cask beer competition.
This follows on from winning silver at the SIBA national awards earlier in the year.
The gold award was for our speciality beer Itzamna which is 9.6% chocolate vanilla porter brewed with organic cacao nibs and Madagascan vanilla pods. Itzamna is named after the Mayan god who gave his people the cocoa plant.
Jon Mills of Canterbury Brewers said it was great for the only brewery within the City walls of Canterbury to win a gold medal. We are constantly producing high quality craft beers and it’s good to be judged against your peers and that this award was recognition for all the passion and hard work of the brewers and staff at Canterbury Brewers.
Canterbury Brewers is a craft Microbrewery which has been producing great beer for just
five years and after winning various national and regional awards this is the first time that
we have won a Gold Award. Itzamna can be found at The Foundry Brew pub in Whitehorse
Lane where it is brewed.
