Eckley Farms picked up a couple of awards last year for their flour, and this year, it was the turn of their Pure Kent Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil. The judges in the Great British Food Farm Produce Awards commended it highly, and it was second only to an oil from Scotland. The judges said “This oil has a nutty, toasted aroma which shines through when you taste it. It’s very sweet too, and has a lovely golden hue.” This years rapeseed crop was grown on the Leeds Castle Estate, using soil conservation methods to produce a #CarbonClever crop. Look out for the tags featuring the award on bottles of oil in shops and at Farmers’ Markets in West Kent.
