#SOLLEYSSELFIE COMPETITION WINNER REVEALED
Solley’s Kentish Ice Cream has announced Melissa Dawkins from Ashford as the winner of its #SolleysSelfie social media competition – and a year’s supply of ice cream.
Throughout the summer, Solley’s encouraged customers to post ‘selfies’ of themselves enjoying the Kentish dairy ice cream to Facebook and Twitter, using the hashtag #SolleysSelfie.
Melissa’s photo of herself and daughter Indie (right) sharing a scoop of Solley’s at the Kent County Show was picked by the Solley’s team as the winning selfie, and Melissa will now enjoy 24 litres of the delicious iced treat over the next 12 months. The first batch has already been delivered and included Solley’s Choc Chip Mint, Jamaican Rum & Raisin, Traditional Vanilla, Salted Caramel & Fudge and Ripple Raspberry ice creams.
Three runners-up also received a voucher for five litres of Solley’s ice cream, to be redeemed at The Calf Shed farm shop at the Solley family farm in Ripple, near Deal.
Melissa, a keen blogger and fashion designer who runs boutique online clothes store Aye Aye, said: “I was absolutely thrilled to find out that we had won a year’s supply of Solley’s ice cream. I had managed to sample it in several places across Kent this summer so I already know how delicious it is, and now we get to try even more of the flavours! Rum & Raisin is my current favourite; we can’t wait for our next batch and to host an ice cream tea party!”
Keith Morrison, Solley’s director, said: “We wanted to give something back to our loyal customers to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and there’s no better gift than a year’s supply of ice cream! The #SolleysSelfie competition had some fantastic entries, but Melissa and Indie’s cheeky selfie really captured the pleasure of enjoying an ice cream on a hot summer’s day.”
Solley’s has been making delicious Kentish dairy ice cream on the family farm in Ripple, near Deal, since 1985, and is now the biggest independent producer in the county. All milk and cream comes from a ChannelIsland herd on a neighbouring farm and sugar is sourced from Cambridgeshire. Solley’s ice cream contains no artificial flavours or additives and is the only Kentish ice cream that is Farm Assured, meaning all products display the coveted Red Tractor logo.
