As of 13th December 2014, ABO will be a 100% Gluten Free Bakery – this means no more ‘may contain Gluten’ on our packaging. Our expertise is in ‘gluten free’ and we are incredibly proud of our unique range of high quality, ‘gluten free’ bread. Under new labelling rules, we are not able to use the term ‘may contain gluten’ in connection with any ‘gluten free’ bread.
Lots of new Gluten Free Products!
- Mushroom Bread – mushrooms are great natural source of vitamins B2, B3 and B5, which contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- Seaweed Pudding – can be eaten as a snack or fried in olive oil for a tasty kind of seaweed ‘steak’. Made with at least 5 organic seaweeds benefiting from lots of health properties. Fucus vesiculosus is used in supplements to help blood group O with their metabolism. Brown kelp shows potential benefits for gut health and help prevent colon cancer.
- Oatie – made with ‘gluten free’ oats, water and a little seaweed to reduce salt levels, with no added yeast. Chewy, warming, great to eat ‘on the hoof’ or for a relaxed breakfast with organic honey. Delicious, high in fibre, suitable for all blood groups and most Genotypes.
- Crackers for Boys – Made with beer instead of water, giving them a lovely gloss and flavour! Fucus and linseed are the healthy ingredients. No gums or dodgy ingredients. They look a bit like our local oyster shells – hence we call them ‘Whitstable Beer & Seaweed’ Cracker Shells.
- Tiger Nut Cookies – You’ll be amazed! A sweet biscuit made with just a few simple organic ingredients – no sugar or palm fat. They are not even baked – more dried. Perfect for the many people who give normal biscuits a wide berth.
- Four new loaves – Buckwheat 4Grain 4G, Poppy Toastie, 3Grain Toastie 3G and a spicy Curry Bread.
- Qi Snack Pack – 4 slice travel pack of black and golden Quinoa bread with a longer shelf life.

- Miracle Cupcake – with a delicious carob date and cold pressed flax oil frosting – to deal with 99% of all our free-from requests. Christmas version of this delicious cupcake and the Miracle cake available!
Our own Baking Ferment
- Made without the use of corn, meaning everyone can eat our bread!
- We use organic honey to kick start the ferment process. 1 tablespoon of honey makes about 500 loaves of bread and is fermented out, so the cooked bread doesn’t include any honey – so it doesn’t even need to be included on the packaging label.
No Dodgy Dough
- Big brands use Xanthan Gum – you don’t need it! Send it back to the oil drilling and fracking industry, where it comes from!
- No xanthan gum, no transglutaminase or no other dodgy ingredient!
- Our bread is a totally natural product!
The Sad News
- Rye & Spelt Bread – as these lines are not ‘gluten free’ we will no longer be able to produce this bread anymore and it is with a heavy heart we say good bye to these products.
To celebrate going organic ‘gluten free’ there will be NEW sexy, white, clean packaging designed by an award winning designer (who happens to love our bread or we could not afford him); media activity and promotions.
