Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Reporting to: Trustees / Operations Manager
Hours: Part-time 12 hours per week flexible as required
Contract: Initially for up to 20 weeks renewable subject to successful funding applications.
Salary: £12 per hour
Working Schedule: To be agreed with the Operations Manager
Location: Communigrow Field, Ditton, Aylesford, Kent, ME20 6PE
This role is subject to DBS and due diligence checks prior to appointment
Key responsibilities
To use innovative and creative methods of attracting a diversity of volunteers with the aptitude, enthusiasm, range of skills and resilience to work on the field contributing to the growing activities.
To be a strong ambassador for Communigrow, actively working within the local community, using our website and social media presence in raising awareness of the opportunities that exist to volunteer and participate.
To support the volunteers by having a presence at the field with them and in their work with adults and young people with a range of physical and learning disabilities.
To develop and maintain the necessary processes and procedures for the effective recruitment, induction, ongoing management and safe deployment of volunteers.
To ensure good levels of volunteer retention are achieved
Engage with local businesses where opportunities may exist for CSR volunteering and pro bono / in kind support potential might be obtained.
Maintain a close working relationship with local Volunteer agencies and others who promote and encourage volunteering within the community.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience of volunteering
Effective in using networking skills to engage and enthuse others
Excellent in communication (written and verbally)
An interest and some experience in horticulture
Desirable:
Experience of volunteer coordination
Voluntary sector experience
Team leadership or line management
Working with vulnerable adults or young people
Social media and website content management
Educated to degree level,
Experience of CSR / volunteering amongst the businesses community
Skills and attributes:

Reliable and well organised
