The Ferry House Inn team is delighted to support innovative, young entrepreneurs
Sibling team of three: Joey (8), Beaulieu (5) and Molly Anne (11) has invested their pocket money and birthday savings in order to purchase 100 laying hens. With the support of their family, they have cleverly re-commissioned a disused lorry trailer to create a 4 star poultry home for their feathered ladies and have set up a business collecting eggs to sell locally. While Beaulieu & Joey are responsible for egg collecting & feeding, Molly Anne oversees administration, registration & finance.
Living just half a mile from The Ferry House Inn, they have organised a twice weekly delivery to ensure our restaurant kitchens are regularly re-stocked with the very finest & freshest free-range eggs.
Pastry chef Helen Janik-Foreman has been busy utilising these eggs to create a selection of fabulous & freshly made desserts; Helen has noted that these corn-fed hens produce a high quality deep rich yellow yolk, ensuring that cooking with them is a real treat.
While our Breakfast Chef; Lad, is delighted to include them as part of our award winning breakfast menu receiving several compliments from guest for the rich, creamy flavour.
The Ferry House Inn is proud to support local food producers young and old!
