AJ Sharp launches a DIY PR Service

Kentish Public Relations entrepreneur, AJ Sharp launches a DIY PR Service to Boost Food and Drink Startup Market

Sharp Relations’ owner-founder AJ Sharp launches PR Toolkit, a new food and drink do-it-yourself PR platform, in response to demand for affordable PR from food and drinks entrepreneurs, startups and growing businesses.

PR Toolkit is a digital platform that offers members a specialised food and drinks PR agency service. It helps smaller businesses keep PR in-house, build reputation and create credibility, through genuinely newsworthy media coverage.

PR Toolkit owner-founder AJ Sharp has worked in food and drink PR since 2006; she established, specialist food and drinks PR agency, Sharp Relations in 2010 from her parent’s barn near Maidstone: The business has since grown into an award-winning enterprise with PR Toolkit at its heart.

“We believe that PR Toolkit is part of a growing trend for the automation of business services, offering results and value for money.” Sharp is also a published food writer, a Great Taste Award judge and a Produced in Kent member, she goes on to explain:
“Food and drink is a particularly specialised sector of public relations, there are many nuances and techniques which we share with members. Our collective experience and contacts can really help businesses that want to improve visibility through earned media coverage.

“We have worked with hundreds of food and drinks entrepreneurs over the past decade and many asked us for the same thing – an affordable modular PR service – that led us to create PR Toolkit.

The online platform offers various innovative features including press release templates, training videos, press alerts, feature lists and a live media calendar. There is also offline support from our team of PR professionals in the form of press release writing services, proofreading services, telephone consultations, PR strategy, PR bolt-ons and a media planner (worth £29) for the office wall. For just £69 per month, it offers incredible value and opportunities in comparison to the cost of a retained PR agency.

“PR Toolkit does not mass distribute press releases to hundreds of journalists but supports its members to identify key media outlets. Press releases will be written and adjusted appropriately for each media channel or publication. Consultation and guideance is given to members to help identify the most appropriate journalist for each story.”
