December is very special for Whitstable Produce Store. It’s our third birthday on Small Business Saturday 3 December. We opened on Small Business Saturday 2013 and were delighted to represent Kent and UK food businesses as one of the Small Business 100 in 2015 when we visited HM Treasury to launch Small Business Saturday.
This year, we’re again celebrating our birthday by launching our Christmas windows designed by Whitstable artist Oywah Chung and revealing our third birthday cake by award-winning Whitstable star-baker Sally4Cakes. We can only say that it’s all set to rival last year’s cake rendition of the Store. Here’s a sneaky preview of Sally’s wonderful work to whet your appetite…
We were delighted to win four awards this year – two Kent Independent Trader Awards (Retail Business and Growth Business), a Silver Keep It In Kent Award and a Top Ten place for the Department of Local Government sponsored BestGBTwitterStore. We’ve got plans for 2017 to bring even more great Kent food to the Store. We’ll tell you as soon as we can.
