On September 25th, Cliftonville Farmers’ Market will be celebrating it’s ’15th’ anniversary.
Cliftonville’s multi-award winning outdoor traditional Farmers’ Market was started in September 2001 by Cliftonville Residents Association.
It is run entirely by members from the community, for the community, who give their time for free.
I think we are one of the oldest in Kent.
We only had 6 stalls when we started and now have at least 25 on a regular basis.
Our stallholdersĀ sell everything from wild game to vegetarian and they are all lovely & friendly people.
We do not have craft stalls at our market focusing on food, drink & plants.
I have been the market manager from the onset.
The biggest challenge to us at Cliftonville is the weather, as our site is on the cliff top and is very open to the elements. On a lovely day it is great, looking out to sea seeing all the ships.
