Could you be a ‘Solley’s Scooper’?

Kent ice cream producer on the look-out for events staff

An award-winning Kent ice cream company is looking for a team of ‘Scoopers’ to help sell its sweet treats at events and food festivals.

Solley's Classic Morrison ice cream vansFamily-run Solley’s, based in Ripple, near Deal, supplies delicious Kentish ice cream to businesses across the South East from tourist attractions and theatres to farm shops, cafés and restaurants. Having celebrated its 30th anniversary last year and experiencing significant growth, the company is now looking to hire several new staff members to take its distinctive fleet of vehicles out and about.

Keith Morrison, Solley’s director, said: “There’s nothing we love more than rolling up to events such as the Kent County Show in one of our classic 1970s ice cream vans, or being hired to distribute bespoke ice cream to wedding guests. However, we’ve become so busy with new orders that we haven’t been able to attend all the events we’ve been invited to, so we’re looking for a team of ‘Solley’s Scoopers’ to take on the challenge.

“Our ideal ‘Scooper’ will be passionate about Kentish food, hard-working and willing to learn, good with people, and – most importantly – must be willing to help us with the extremely important job of ice cream tasting! We’re a close-knit, family company and we’re proud to provide jobs for local people, so we’re keen to hear from applicants of all ages and backgrounds.”

Budding Scoopers should call Solley’s on 01304 374100 or email info@solleysicecream.co.uk. For more information, visitwww.solleysicecream.co.uk.

Solley’s is the largest independent ice cream producer in Kent, and the only one to display the Red Tractor logo, confirming its farm assured credentials. More than 85 per cent of base products are sourced from within the county and all milk and cream comes from a ChannelIsland herd on a neighbouring farm, keeping food miles to a minimum.
