At the heart of The Bakehouse is our open plan bakery which allows customers to see where all the delicious bread and vennoiserie are produced – from setting the sourdough starters to finishing the products ready for sale in the shop and we welcome questions and conversation from our customers about the bread.
The aim of the bakehouse is only to sell items that have been produced on the premises, whether that be our bread, soup, quiche or salad and as such our breakfast offering includes croissants, pastries, brioche, our now famous toast bar; bacon and sausage sandwiches. All the food showcases the fantastic bread but also, where ever possible, locally sourced produce. This carries on with our lunchtime menu.
Whether in summer, out in our Walled Garden, or cosying around our stove on the first floor, the Bakehouse is a welcoming place to relax, meet friends or have meetings. With the fantastic space on the first floor being used as a venue space we have hosted afternoon tea parties; breakfast gatherings and small group AGM’s.
