VACANCY: Deli manager sought for award winning food hall

DSC_3724Macknade Fine Foods – the family owned food hall in Faversham, Kent and Great Taste Shop of the Year Runner Up – is further strengthening its team by recruiting a Deli Manager to take on the management of its extensive delicatessen counter, which houses amongst the largest range of cheese and charcuterie available anywhere in the UK.

Finnian Dunlop, General Manager at Macknade, commented, “This is a move designed to introduce new skills and knowledge, taking the customer experience instore to another level. We would like to bring in a member of the team with existing knowledge and a genuine passion for cheese and charcuterie to lead the department, sharing their enthusiasm for the products and to assist in truly establishing Macknade, Faversham and Kent as a leading food destination for the UK.”

“We spend a lot of time encouraging young local people to join the food industry, but these youngsters need experienced mentors and managers. We would like to reach out to and welcome those from further afield who wish to broaden their management experience with great produce, at the same time developing their own team.”

The company has exciting plans for the next couple of years with planning permission to significantly redevelop and enlarge the existing food hall and the option of future sites. Stefano Cuomo, Managing Director and Owner, is clear about the direction of the company, “We have a great opportunity to grow, not just on this site, but elsewhere, and we expect to do this as a team, taking responsibility, sharing our interest and love of great food with customers, suppliers and staff alike.”

Voted as the Taste of Kent Retailer of the Year for 2014 and 2015, Macknade Fine Foods hopes to appeal to candidates looking to step up and take on the management of this significant department and grow within the business.
