New Christmas Products from Fudge Kitchen

So here it is… Merry Christmas!  And this year is going to be particularly merry. Our fudge elves have been working their little red and white stripey socks off creating Christmas fudge gifts to cover off an entire list.

This year sees the launch of two new seasonal lines: the Sharing Bar Christmas trio and a mini-me, teaser set of our Liquid Fudge range, in Sea Salted Caramel, Vanilla Toffee, Hazelnut Heaven and Rich Chocolate flavours.

Pour over puds, spread it on toast, mix into cake batters, dollop onto mince pies, drizzle over pancakes … or simply spoon greedily into gaping gob when no one’s looking. Made in small batches, each is hand worked by creaming the liquid fudge for up to an hour on a warm marble slab to ensure the famed FK smooth texture.

As for our Christmas Sharing bar trio, well, there won’t be a great deal of sharing going on here, but let’s not quibble over semantics. Our miniature versions of FK’s confectionery counter slice-and-serve Fudge Loaves (which adorn such counters as Harrods’ Chocolate Room), have been given a Christmas makeover in a seasonal trio, comprising Hazelnut Heaven, Clotted Cream and Chocolate Orange bars. All hand made and hand decorated in small batches by our artisan team, of course.

And, in a ‘you heard it here first’ moment, FK will also be extending their hugely successful, 2015 Great Taste Award winning Delectables range this month, with a Pecan Brittle and an Almond Bark joining the hand made brittles and caramels in our first sugar confectionery range. As the ultimate stamp of approval, the Pecan Brittle is also being supplied as a gorgeously packaged own label line to Selfridges, bringing our own label total with them to eight lines.

Awards, awards and accolades …

Equally uber-foodie-credentials-sanctioning, we were absolutely thrilled to have had two of our lines selected for inclusion in September’s famous Observer Food Monthly Awards goody bags – a nose bag of artisan wonders given to 450 of the biggest movers and shakers in the F&B industry. Our Drinking Fudge should have been savoured by such luminaries as Rick Stein, Tom Kerridge, Monica Galetti, Jay Rayner, Ella Woodward, the Hemlsey sisters, bloggers Hot Dinners and Clerkenwell boy and Yotam Ottolenghi.

Finally, we find ourselves on three finalist shortlists as this wonderfully successful year draws to a close. Fingers crossed for defending our 2014/15 Best Ambient Producer title at the prestigious Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards. And we are also hoping to swell our trophy cabinet at The Caterer Product Excellence Awards, with our Slice & Serve Butter fudge loaves selected as finalists in the confectionery category. And MD Sian Holt is up for a Director of the Year (small company) in the Institute of Directors’ London and SE Director of the Year Awards 2015. Watch this space!

And please put your cross next to us in the Taste of Kent Awards’ Kent Food Producer of the Year category!
