WHITSTABLE PRODUCE STORE SELECTED AS ONE OF 2015 SMALL BIZ 100
Whitstable Produce Store is thrilled to have been selected as one of the 2015 Small Biz 100 – one hundred small businesses that will be profiled nationally in the run-up to Small Business Saturday UK on Saturday 5 December. That Saturday is also the Store’s second birthday – we opened on Small Business Saturday 2013.
All the Small Biz 100 businesses have their own “day” when Small Business Saturday UK profiles them to a national audience. The Small Biz 100 also take part in national events which have included high-profile receptions and networking events in previous years.
Whitstable Produce Store’s “day” is Thursday 3 December; two days before our second birthday on Small Biz Saturday and we will be having a three-day celebration from Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 December. Plans include special commissions from our regular suppliers; decorations by Whitstable maker Oywah Chung, our second hamper competition and a very special cake baked by Whitstable’s award-winning Sally 4 Cakes.
We’re very proud that we work with over twenty small Kent businesses every day – the makers and producers who supply us – and we want to share our membership of the Small Biz 100 with them. If they don’t do what they do, we can’t do what we do!

Whitstable Produce Store sells great food and drink to eat in and take away from over twenty independent Kent suppliers and makers in our Grade 2 listed Georgian store in Harbour Street, Whitstable.
Small Business Saturday UK ¦ “5 million small businesses, 1 big day”
Small Business Saturday was brought to the UK by shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna in 2013 and now has cross-party support. Director Michelle Ovens was awarded an MBE for services to enterprise in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours. Small Business Saturday originated in the US in 2010.
