Brogdale have baked up a storm this year with a competition to be judged by world famous Chef Raymond Blanc. Festival goers have been entering cakes into each festival this year in the hope of bagging a place in the final on the 21st October at Brogdale’s Apple Festival.
There is still time to be in the running as visitors can enter an apple cake into the competition on the first day of the apple festival (20th October) to be in the running for the last place in the final judging on the Sunday with Raymond Blanc.
Bernie Cranfield, Events and Marketing manager at Brogdale comments, “we are really looking forward to having Raymond Blanc judge the final at the Apple Festival and we know that it is going to be a great end to the competition, we are happy that so many bakers, of all ages, from around Kent are taking part”.
Brogdale offers a culinary hotspot for foodies as it is home to the National Fruit Collection; the largest collection of fruit in the world. It has attracted the likes of James Martin, the Hairy Bikers and Valentine Warner to explore some of the wonderful and unique varieties the collection has to offer.
This years Apple Festival will have over 500 apple varieties on display and over 100 to taste and buy over the weekend making it the biggest Apple Event in the UK.
