We’re continuing to help rural business owners to diversify with our cost-effective prefabricated buildings. Farmers and artisan holders are just some of the many people who regularly benefit from our units; which can be optimised for food preparation, hot selling, office space and much more.

Our latest success story came in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex, where we installed a prefabricated milk tank building for a dairy farm in Godalming.  The clients in question – Nick and Jo Ranson – had decided they wanted to increase the production capacity of their herd of cows. In order to do this successfully, they contacted us for our help.

Another Client Satisfied

It was essential that we exactly met the structural requirements requested by the farm’s owners. These included precise sizing (8.68 x 6.32 metres) and the incorporation of an entrance that would allow large equipment to be moved in and out of the building. By designing a removable gap of 3 x 3 metres between the two front doors we were able to achieve this.

The assembly of the unit we manufactured took just one day thanks to the Construction Assistance we provided. This is optional for those who’d like our help during the installation process. Within the structure, two milk tanks of 12,500l and 3,000l can now be housed; which will enable the farm to achieve the level of production desired.

Upon completion, Nick Ranson was delighted with his new investment: “It’s a very decent alternative to doing it out of bricks and mortar; whilst also having to think about a ceiling, plastering and painting after all that. I would definitely be happy to recommend one of these units as they present a well-priced alternative to similar competitive buildings.”

Kit-Form Modular Buildings for the Dairy Industry

By employing our services, Nick and Jo showcased the sort of forward-thinking that will enable them to achieve their goal of low-input/low-output production. By using less feed and machinery, the load placed on nature and their cows has been reduced thanks to the prefabricated building we provided:

“For us, the low input, low output business model is essential for driving profit. Our business is in fertility; not that of milk yields,” Nick continued.

The ideas realised in this success story showcase an innovative way in which dairy farmers can adapt to the current dairy industry climate.
