Stephens fresh foods, the South East’s premium ham manufacturer, is proud to announce a re-structure in its Directorship. Paul Lawson who was previously the Operations Director has moved into the position of Managing Director. Paul has been with the family owned and run business for twenty five years and is delighted to accept the challenge of developing the company into its next phase of growth. Paul commented that he is: “….looking forward to the challenges to come. I am pleased to be accepting this role while the company is in such good shape and I am looking forward to the opportunity for taking the business forward for a new generation of stake holders.”
The business has been operating in its current location since 1985 and supplies all of the major catering butchers in London and the South East; as well as key airline caterers and food service companies. They also supply a high quality range of European charcuterie imported from Italy and Spain. The business manufactures 11 tonnes of ham every week.
Company Chairman Steve Leadbitter said “In line with our desire to develop the business into the 21st century, it is with equal measures of sadness and pleasure that we announce that Bill Lawson, is to step down as MD. He remains as Finance Director. The role of MD is being filled by his son Paul, who has demonstrated his outstanding ability to manage the business, and we are excited about his plans to take the business onto the next generation.” The change takes effect immediately.
