Camel Milk Ice Cream is a Huge Success

Camel MilkSimply Ice Cream, based near Ashford, has tried something a little unusual and has received fantastic, and perhaps unexpected, feedback.  The company who are well known for producing thick, creamy, indulgent ice creams used their knowledge to produce Camel Milk Ice Cream for the first time.  On Sunday 7th September Simply Ice Cream produced three flavours of the ice cream, vanilla, mango and strawberry and took it along to Hole Park’s Camel Race Day for John Hare of the Wild Camel Foundation, their stand sold out of the 120 pots supplied in the three flavours in under an hour.

The feedback was phenomenal and John Hare and Sally Newall of Simply Ice Cream are now discussing a possible collaboration in the future for the British market. The unusual ice cream is low in fat and high in Vitamin C and is also a delicious alternative for those who are allergic to the lactose in dairy.

Simply Ice Cream also decided to make the ice cream as diabetic-friendly as possible. Camel milk already has a high-level of insulin-like protein, and Simply founder, Sally Newall decided to embrace this and use agave instead of sugar to sweeten the flavours.

After the feedback started to pour in from Hole Park, Sally took a handful of the Camel Milk Ice Cream pots to the Speciality and Fine Food Fair in London, and a lucky few got to sample it there. Again, the comments and feedback were beyond expectations, and although the ice cream was initially created solely for the Camel Race Day, the company are now contemplating the benefits of producing it alongside their current products and flavours.

If you were one of the lucky few that tasted the ice cream why not get in touch and tell Simply what you thought by sending an email to emma@simplyicecream.co.uk.
